George Henry Beard III, 80, of Tiltonsville, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023 in Trinity Hospital.  He was born on July 16, 1942 in Bridgeport a son of the late George H. and Evelyn (Brownlee) Beard Jr.  George was Methodist by faith, served his Country in the United States Army and retired from Ohio Power Cardinal Plant.  He was a member of the Steubenville Masonic Lodge #45, Brilliant American Legion Post #573 and the Yorkville VFW.  George also loved his motorcycle, golf, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Beverly "Candy" (Luyster) Beard; children, George L. (Tara) Beard, Denise L. Swearingen, and Charles (Diane) Stiers; a sister, Maureen Vostatek; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; his dog JoJo and his cat Jade.

George was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Allan "Sonny" Beard; three sisters, Iris Clower, Irene Higgins and Dorothy Heller; and his dog Sacha.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside.
