George P. Burns, 53, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.. He was born January 27, 1960 in Bath, Maine a son of Barbara (Vigue) Burns and the late George H. Burns. He worked for Ohio Valley Coal Co. and was a member of U.M.W. Local #1810. George was a catholic by faith. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by two brothers Michael and Mark Guerin. Surviving in addition to his mother of Bath, are his wife, Lisa M. (Milan) Burns, his step-daughter, Hyacin K. Ray of Martins Ferry, daughter, Natasha Chase Littlefield-Jeffrey and a son, Richard Chase both of Maine, four sisters; Stephanie (Dean) Batterman of Bath, Elizabeth McDorr of New Brunswick, Maine, Barbara (Pete) Peters of Jacksonville, FL and Amy Maruna of Germany,three grandchildren Dalia, Tanner and Colbie and his loving dog, Goblin. Friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Wednesday, September 4, 2013, from 11 am until time of a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm.
