George H. Fisher, 95, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, died Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling. He was born February 20, 1923 in Power, WV a son of the late George J. and Madeline (McGovern) Fisher.
George retired from the Belmont County Sewer Authority and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps during WWII.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife, Rose (Lacon) Fisher and brothers Ralph and Francis Fisher.
Surviving are his daughter, Sharon Vale of Irving, TX, two sisters, Evelyn Tellitocci of Wheeling and Mary (Donald) Doyle of Warwood, WV, and several nieces and nephews including Lisa Fall of Wheeling.
Friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Tom Marut officiating. Burial follows in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
