George A. Fitch, 58, of Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born April 22, 1949 in Barnesville, OH a son of the late Betty (Yeager) Fitch. He was an auto mechanic for the former Miller's Service Center for 22 years and recently worked for The Shop Auto Repair both of Martins Ferry. George was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus both of Martins Ferry. Surviving are his wife Anita S. (Papini) Fitch, two sons Jason (Melissa) Fitch of Bentleyville, PA and George A. (Pam) Fitch, Jr. of Marion, OH, a brother Robert Wheatley of Minerva, OH, a sister Margaret Kincaide of Malvern, OH, and a granddaughter Sarah E. Fitch. Family and friends will be received Monday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Marys Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Interment will follow at the convenience of the family in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV. Rosary devotions will be recited Monday at 3:00 pm followed by Wake services at 8:30 pm both in the funeral home.
