George E. "Ike" Heil, 93, of Lore City, OH formerly of Euclid Ave, Martins Ferry , OH died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Countryview Assisted Living, Lore City. He was born Jan. 15, 1918 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Alfred W. and Cora (LeSeur) Heil. He was Owner and Operator of the former Heil Packing and Distributing Company. Ike was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Vera (Mullin) Heil, his second wife Bernice "Ibby" (Felton) Elliott Heil, two brothers Forrest L. "Foddy" Heil, and Alfred W. Heil, a sister Virginia L. Gallagher,a nephew Forrest L. Heil, and his best friend Hughes Lipphardt. Surviving are two daughters Cindy (Joe) Starr of Cambridge, OH, and Marsha (Mark) Cunningham of Lewisburg, WV, two step-sons James (Mary Ann) Elliott, and Thomas (Diane) Elliott all of Wellsville, OH, three step-daughters Ruth Hepp of Columbiana, OH, Jackie Garbutt of Phoenix, AZ, and Becky (Lenny) Piko of Winterville, OH, three grandchildren Dr. Garieann (Dr. Eric) Fish, Heidi and Heather Cunningham, nine step-grandchildren Bradley and Bridget Piko, Doug (Kandy) Elliott, Don (Karen) Elliott and Ron Elliott, Debbie (Gil) Ashbridge, Trudy (Dr. Bob) English, Shelly (Steve) Poynter, and Scott Elliott, two great grandchildren Ryan and Lauren Fish, twenty-two step great grandchildren, two step great great grandchildren, one great great great grandchild, his friend Jane Lipphardt, and all his friends at Countryview Assisted Living. Friends will be received Sunday 4 to 9 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry where services will be held Monday, June 13, 2011 at 10:00 am with Pastor Scott Walsh and Pastor Wib Bragg officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH. Deacons of the church will hold bereavement services Sunday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Countryview Assisted Living Auxiliary, 62825 County Home Rd., Lore City, OH 43755.
