Obituary

George Roth, 92, formerly of Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH died Tue., Oct. 18, 2005 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. He was born July 22, 1913 in Martins Ferry a son of the late John and Anna (Lander) Roth. Sr. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. George was a member of the former V.F.W. Post #3613 and American Legion Post #38 both of Martins Ferry, and the Liberty Engine Co. of the Martins Ferry Fire Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Rose M. (Edgehouse) Roth, four brothers John. Jr., Fritz, William, and Herman Roth and two sisters Freda Dietrich and Elizabeth Clark. Surviving are a son Michael G. (Barbara) Roth of Tiltonsville, OH, a daughter Georgianna Nagy of Bridgeport, OH, three brothers Richard (Betty) Roth and Robert (Eileen) Roth both of Martins Ferry and Arthur (Betty Lou) Roth of Colerain, OH, two sisters Anna Marie Young and Loretta Roth both of Martins Ferry, eight grandchildren Michael J. and Jonathan A. Roth, Lorrie Porter, Tammy Pedlose, Jamie McCardle, Melissa Beaver, and Jessica and Kathleen Nagy, and several great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH Wed., 3-9 PM where services will be held Thurs., Oct. 20, 2005 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Thomas N. Thomas officiating. Burial follows in Highland Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, OH with military graveside services by the Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W. Martins Ferry Fire Dept. will hold services Wed. at 7 PM in the funeral home.
