George W. Snyder, Jr., 72 of Barnesville, Ohio, died Monday, September 23, 2013 at the home of his sister. He was born December 9, 1940 in Barnesville, Ohio, son of the late George W. Snyder, Sr. and Mildred C. Pierce Snyder. He was a member of North Main Street Church of Christ and was retired from the Oxford company, where he had worked as a heavy equipment operator. George had a passion for motorcycles, guns, knives, and following college football. He was an avid lover and reader of western books. He was a member of the Barnesville Eagles and the Barnesville Elks 1699. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Kay Snyder. George is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia A. Snyder of Barnesville, Ohio; daughters, Leigh (Bob) Davis of Florida, Shelly Marie Snyder of Belmont, Ohio; sons, Steven Shane Snyder of Barnesville, Ohio, Brian (Karen) Bailey of New Albany, Ohio; six grandchildren; sisters, Norma Marmie and Joyce Conway both of Bethesda, Ohio; and brother, Harold Snyder of Bethesda, Ohio. Family and friends may visit, Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service beginning at 3 p.m.. Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Brother Mark Eikenberry will be officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio.
