George Staley George "Jerry" Staley, 70 of Ohio Ave., Martins Ferry, OH died Wed. Oct. 8, 2003 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Jun. 4, 1933 in Martins Ferry a son of the late George L and Gladys M. Duke Staley. He was retired for the Yorkville Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death a brother Martin Staley and a sister Lois B. Collette. Surviving are his wife Mary Evelyn Coss Staley , five sons Dale (Diana)Staley of Martins Ferry, David (Tracey) Staley of Wheeling, James (Mary) Staley of Martins Ferry, Jerry (Jamie) Staley of Wheeling and Patrick (Jodi) Staley of Martins Ferry, a daughter Connie (Bob) Hackett of Martins Ferry, a sister Rose Mary (Roger) Gildow of Colerain, thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Friends will be received Thurs. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Fri., Oct. 10, 2003 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Thomas Magary officiating. Burial follows at St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Rosary devotions will be recited Thurs. at 3:00 PM followed by Wake services at 7:30 PM both in the funeral home.
