GEORGETTA WANITA SMITH ELLIS
Georgetta Wanita Smith Ellis, 95, of Martins Ferry, Ohio passed away on November 11, 2019 at Wheeling Hospital, with her family at her side. She was born on October 24, 1924 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to the late Della Walkenhauer and Ray Smith.
Georgetta was a member of Colerain Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry Child Study Club, and was an artist. She was the owner of the Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Martins Ferry. Later in life, she worked for the Area on Aging and Martins Ferry Recorder's Office, where she issued birth certificates.
Georgetta is survived by her five children, Jane Weaver and her husband, Bob of Brookside, James Ellis and his wife, Linda of Bethesda, Joe Ellis and his wife, Judy, Georgette Drake and her husband, James, and Georganne Bishop and her husband, Jack all of Martins Ferry; 13 grandchildren, Denise Stitt, David Weaver, Jim Ellis, Betsey Richardson, Micah Ellis, Andrew Ellis, Rebekah Shirley, Sarah Taylor, Joseph Ellis, Michael and Jaron Drake, Jacob and Bethany Bishop; and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Ellis.
Family and friends are invited for a Memorial Service, celebrating Georgetta's life on Friday, November 15, 2019, 1:00 pm, at Colerain Presbyterian Church, 71780 U.S. Route 250, Colerain, Ohio 43916. Officiating, her son and Pastor Joe Ellis.
The family has entrusted the care of Georgetta with Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, Bethesda.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Colerain Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 96, Colerain, Ohio 43916
