Georgia C. (Barker) Leach, 68, of Martins Ferry, OH, went to be with the Lord, January 10, 2016. She was born January 26, 1947 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late George and Jennie T. (Zelkowski) Barker. Georgia loved her church family at First Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry where she was a Deacon and former Trustee. She was also very active visiting the homebound church members and helping with the Ministry of Comfort. Georgia served for many years on the Salvation Army Board of Directors . Georgia is survived by her husband, David A. Leach, children, David (Kim) Leach, Jr. of Flushing, OH, Jason (Lynette) Leach of Lancaster, OH and Lisa Gildow of Martins Ferry, sisters, Barbara (Bob) Springer of Martins Ferry, Mary Lou (Don) Ehrle of Westlake, OH, Jennie (Gary) Solak of South Shore Harbour, TX, brothers, Eugene Barker of Louisville, KY and Bill (Angie) Barker of Columbus, OH, grandchildren, Rick and Daniel Carrel, Zettie Harshman, Amos Leach, Emileigh and Haleigh Gildow and Joshua and Nicholas Leach and a special friend, Teri Porter. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Wednesday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m and Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with the funeral services to be held at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 400 Walnut St., Martins Ferry with Rev. David Stammerjohn officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Deacons of the church will hold a prayer service Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
