Obituary

Georgianna C. Jancura passed from her earthly physical body to a spiritual body while a resident at Adena Health and Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. She was born October 19, 1933, the eldest daughter of the late Harry and Pauline (Biscaro) Cesario in Dillonvale, Ohio. Georgie was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church and the Piney Fork American Legion Post 735 Auxiliary. She graduated from Dillonvale High School. She was a 4-H advisor for the former Smithfield Sons and Dots 4-H Club. Georgie also played bass guitar and created as well as constructed all of the outfits worn by the Polka Jacks Polka Band for 20 years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed being a part of any activities her family was involved in. In her later years she helped decorate for homecomings and proms, sewed costumes for Oglebay Institute School of Dance, attended piano and dance recitals, sporting events, and band and school musical productions. Georgie even participated in the Foreign Language Fair helping her granddaughters to make authentic Polish and Russian foods. She was Nonnie to grandchildren's friends, dance girls, and school students. Her parents as well as her brothers, Fred Cesario and Harry Cesario Jr. and brother-in-law Frank Yanczura predeceased her. She is survived by her husband Wally, to whom she was married for 60 years, and her children Suzanne (James) Smarrella, Wally (Janice) Jancura Jr., and Frank (Laura) Jancura. Grandchildren include Joe (Sarah Cooper) Jancura, Paul (Theresa Paul) Jancura, Jessica Smarrella, Faith Jancura, MaryRose Jancura, Tom Jancura, and Dan Jancura. Georgie is survived by sisters Eleanor (Bill) Kintz, Betty Yanczura, and brother Jim (Barb) Cesario. Sisters-in-law Kay Cesario, Marge Cesario, and Ann Paolucci also survive her. Georgie will be deeply missed by her furbabies Socks and Willie. Friends and family will be received at Wilson Funeral Home in Dillonvale on Friday, March 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be additional visitation at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lorraine Dill officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. Thank you for allowing us to fall and learn from our mistakes. Thank you for sitting with us through homework and piano lesson practice.
