Gerald W. "Jerry" Younkins, 67, of Pattons Run Rd., Martins Ferry, OH died Sat., May 7, 2005 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. He was born July 13, 1937 in Wheeling a son of the late Joseph J. and Gertrude P. (Blatt) Younkins. Jerry retired from Jay's Studio of Photography after 35 years service and was currently the Bar Room Manager for Eagles Aerie #456 of Martins Ferry. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of Martins Ferry and Eagles Aerie #456. Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn L. (Schaefer) Younkins. Surviving are a son Jerry A. (Melissa) Younkins of St. Clairsville, a daughter Joyce (Dale) Pittman of Martins Ferry, and four grandchildren Jessica and Katelyn Smith and Kayla and Tanner Younkins. Friends will be received Mon. 6-8 PM and Tues. 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Wed., May 11, 2005 at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Rosary devotions will be recited Tue. at 3:00 PM, followed by Wake Services at 6:00 PM and concluding with Fraternal Order of Eagle services at 7:00 PM all in the funeral home.
