Geraldine E. "Gerry" (Smith) Hoffman, 85, of Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 at Autumn Health Care of Adena, OH. She was born June 26, 1927 in Dearborn, MI a daughter of the late Harold L. and Eva J. (Barton) Smith. Gerry was a member of the United Woman's Bowling Assoc. and a protestant by faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Hoffman, Sr., a son Richard L. Hoffman, Jr., brothers; Roger, Andrew, William, Fred, Richard, and Harold, Jr. Smith, and two sisters; Frances Smith and Marie Bennett. Surviving are her son; Pastor Terry Allen (Peg) Hoffman of Powhatan Pt., OH, a daughter; Nancy (Tom) Williams of Martins Ferry, a brother; James Smith of Charlottesville, VA, a sister; Leona Linn of Martins Ferry, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Friends are invited to attend a graveside services on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at 11 a.m at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH with Pastor Mike Ream officiating.
