Gerry L. DeLeonardis, (also known as "Mr. D"), 73, of New Alexandria, Ohio, died Wednesday October 30, 2013 at home with his family at his side. He was born September 20, 1940 in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Frank and Dorothy Polen DeLeonardis. Gerry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a retired foreman of 35 years from Timet Corporation in Toronto, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Gerry was preceded in death by a brother Harold. Gerry is survived by a brother William and a sister Donna, both of Richmond, Ohio; sons: Frank (Barbara) of Steubenville, Terry (Tricia) of Ocklawaha, Fla., Michael (Tammy) of Martins Ferry, Ohio, Mark of Bergholz, Ohio, Anthony (Jeana) of Mingo Junction; a daughter Cathy of Croswell, Michigan; grandchildren: Zach, Tessa, Teric, Tiarra, Katelin, Kaleb, Austin, Shaye, Mark Jr., Joshua, Chris, Carey, Casey, Cody, Anthony Jr., and Kylee; and four great grandchildren. Gerry's family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Abdullah Kalla and Charity Hospice and Rev. Sam Retzer for all their care and compassion.
