Gertrude D. (Rathjens) McKeen, 83, of DeHass St., Martins Ferry, OH died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville, OH. She was born Mar. 21, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late Frederick and Martha (Werner) Rathjens. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bernard C. McKeen, three brothers Fred, Frank, and Albert Rathjens and a sister Martha Rathjens. Surviving are a son Thomas (Barbara) McKeen of Bridgeport, OH and a grandson Timothy M. McKeen. Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Monday, July 14, 2008 at 10:00 am with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial follows in Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Martins Ferry Christian School, 710 S. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, OH.
