Gilbert L. Russ, 86, of Washington St., Martins Ferry, OH, formerly of Canton, OH went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007. He was born Feb. 13, 1921 in South Webster, OH a son of the late Oscar and Maude Russ. He was retired from Timken Roller Bearing Company, Canton and a member of the Canton Masonic Lodge # 60 F. & A.M. of Canton, Moose Lodge of Massillon, OH, and the Hungarian American Cultural Society of Martins Ferry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Carl, Donald and Virgil Russ and a sister Lorna. Surviving are his wife Mary (Ivan) Russ , his sister-in-law Irene Ivan and his little buddy Corky with whom he resided, three sons Raymond (Rosemary) Russ of Melvin,OH, Phillip (DeeDee) Russ of NC, and Tim Russ of North Canton, OH, three daughters Ann (Bruce) Kriner of Canton, Debbie (Mark) White and Linda (Rick) Decker both of Piedmont, SC, a brother Richard (Ann) Russ of Massillon, a sister Maxine Brunie of Sebring, OH, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many relatives and friends who will cherish his memories. Friends will be received Thursday, 6-8 pm and Friday, Dec. 21. 2007 from Noon until time of services at 1:00 pm when Chaplin Ron Morgan will officiate at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Masonic Ritualistic services will be held Thursday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
