Gilda Y. Porter, 38, of Flushing, Ohio, died November 29, 2014. She was born November 2, 1976 in Wheeling, West Virginia, daughter of the late Clyde L. Porter and Marcelene F. Kerr Porter. She was a devoted and compassionate Clinical Supervisor throughout the Tri County area. Her children were her most precious gift, holding a special place in her heart and her arms of tenderness always giving them comfort. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Grace Kerr; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Carrie Porter; and brother-in-law, Emerson "Butch" Harris, Jr. Gilda is survived by her children, Haley D. VanHorn and Xavier J. VanHorn both of the home; sister, Sue Harris of Flushing, Ohio; brothers, Dennis "Bo" (Christy) Koher of Stow, Ohio and Gilbert "Butch" (Linda) Porter of Flushing, Ohio. Family and friends will be welcome to visit, Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon until the time of service beginning at 2 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home & Crematory, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Pastor Brian Bee officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio.
