Gus Vrotsos, 88, of Vickers Hill Rd., Dillonvale, OH and formerly of Washington St., Martins Ferry, OH, died Friday, July 10, 2009 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. He was born Feb. 6, 1921 in Saberton, WV a son of the late Pandazis and Maria (Moutafis) Vrotsos. He was the former owner of the Tinplate Restaurant of Yorkville, OH and retired from the Benwood Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Gus was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life Giving Fountain of Martins Ferry, D.A.V. of Bellaire, OH, and the Glencoe American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen (Jeffers) Vrotsos, his son George P. Vrotsos, four brothers George, Pete, James, and John Vrotsos, and a sister Loraine Falleras. Surviving are three daughters Lustie Jane (Ernie) Kapiskosky of Colerain, OH, Charlotte (Steven) Wiess of Beverly Hills, FL, and Penny Lee Plants, two brothers Tony (Evelyn) Vrotsos of Richardson, TX and Nick (Jerry) Vrotsos of Massillon, OH, a sister Daisy Gocsik of Brecksville, OH, six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life Giving Fountain, Martins Ferry with Rev. Menelaos Papageorgiou officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove,OH. Trisagion services will be held Monday at 8 pm in the funeral home. The Belmont County Council of the V. F.
