Harold Eugene Cross, 85, died Friday, October 14, 2011 at Emerald Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born November 19, 1925 in St. Clairsville, Ohio, son of the late Elmer Cross and Mary Hoskinson Cross.
He was a carpenter by trade, a veteran of World War II, and a Methodist by faith. Harold was a loving husband, step father, grandfather, and friend.
Harold is survived by his wife of 41 years, Wilma (Loy) Cross; two step children, Sandra Brown of Barnesville, Ohio and Charles (Judy) Goodin of West Layfette, Ohio; four grandchildren, Julie (Ken) Wehr, Brain Keith Brown of Barnesville, Ohio, Russell Goodin of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Mark (Gina) Goodin of Wyandotte, Michigan; three great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kelsey Douglass and Mindi Jo Wehr of Barnesville, Ohio; one bother, Kenneth (Ann) Cross of St. Clairsville, Ohio; three sisters, Dolly (Clive) Price of Harrisville, Ohio, Mary (Wayne) Price of New Athens, Ohio, and Bernadine (Joe) Satterfield of Bowerston, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Cross; and three sisters, Helen Sparkman, Betty Ferguson, and Florence Tomlinson.
Family and friends will be received, Sunday 3 to 7 p.m., at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio, where services will be conducted, 11 a.m. Monday. Revered Tom Detling will be officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio. Belmont County Council Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military services at 10:45 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
