Harold Kenneth
"Ken" Devault
May 2, 1938 – November 23, 2021
HAROLD KENNETH "KEN" DEVAULT
In the quiet evening of November 23, 2021, Harold Kenneth "Ken" DeVault, 83, heard a gentle call and took the hand God offered him.
Born in Senecaville, Ohio on May 2, 1938, he was the son of the late Ira Orville and Lena (Hannum) DeVault. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Orville DeVault.
Ken's memory will be cherished always by those who survive; his wife of 60 years, Dorothy A. DeVault of Belmont; sons, Mark "Scott" (Denise) DeVault of Bascom, Ohio and William "Lloyd" (Lisa) DeVault of Alachua, Florida; grandchildren, Michelle, Christian, Connor, Jordan, and Ainsley; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Logan; sister, Karen Louise DeVault of Mansfield.
First and foremost, Ken was a man of strong faith. Throughout his journey, he was a member of the Bascom United Methodist Church, White City United Methodist Church, Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and Ebenezer Baptist Church, and served as a lay speaker in the Methodist denomination. He welcomingly shared his gift of faith. Ken proudly served in the United States Army as a sergeant, was a captain in the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary, and received his private pilot's license. He served Amish families in their time of need, with compassionate care.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation, Saturday, November 27, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the service immediately following at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 309 Oak Street, Bethesda. Dr. Brian Bee, Pastor will be officiating. Interment will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Neil and Pat DeVault, Bill and Nannette DeVault, and Kevin Turner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or to Ebenezer Baptist Church.
