Obituary

Harry Dean Carpenter, 87, of Rayland, OH, passed Sunday, January 3, 2016, at East Ohio Regional Hospital. He was born in Rayland on January 4, 1928, a son of the late Arch and Gladys Taylor Carpenter. Harry was a retired employee of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Smithfield Masonic Lodge 182, Scottish Rite of Steubenville, Shriners Temple, Wheeling, VFW Yorkville, he played tuba for Checz Band, American Legion Band, Tri-State Symphonette, Shriners Band and a U.S. Navy Veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Tina Carpenter. Harry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Minnie "Patty" McFadden Carpenter; daughters: Gladys A. (Michael) Horsky of Rayland, Cheryl "Cookie" Carpenter of Tiltonsville, Barbara (Kirk) Fulst of Bridgeport, a son, Harry Carpenter Jr. of Rayland; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his best girl, Penny. Friends will be received for a Memorial Visitation on Friday January 8, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 102 Main Street, Tiltonsville, where services will be held at 7 p.m. with Pastor Dan Holt, officiating, followed by Masonic and Veteran services.
