Harry P. Coleman, Jr., 94, of Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, July 12, 2013 at Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV. He was born May 15, 1919 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Harry P. Sr. and Marion (Rentsch) Coleman. Harry graduated from the Wheeling College of Commence. He was retired from ERB Electric, Wheeling, WV and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Martins Ferry. Harry was an avid bridge player, bowler, golfer and gardener. He enjoyed writing letters to the editor. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army, WW II where he served as a Sergeant in the 1647th Engineer Utility Department in the Europe Theater. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lee (Shepherd) Coleman, two sisters; Betty Reasbeck and Marjorie Williams. Surviving are a daughter Debra (Richard) McGee, a son Harry P. (Judith) Coleman all of Martins Ferry, two sisters; Carol Holmes and Marion Finney both of Martins Ferry, two grandchildren; Megan (Adam) Wimmers of Plain City, OH and Erin Priest of Dublin, OH, and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service Monday, July 15, 2013 at 1:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church, 40 N. 4th St., Martins Ferry, OH with Pastor Philip K. Van Dam officiating. Military honors will be presented Monday at 12:45 pm in the church by VFW Belmont County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Belmont County Senior Services, 310 Fox-Shannon Place, St. Clairsville, OH 43950 or the charity of the donor's choice. Condolences to the family may be made by signing the guest book at the top of this page.
