Harry R. Nieman Harry R. "Peto" Nieman, 81, of N. 9th St., Martins Ferry, OH died Sun., Aug. 31, 2003 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Mar. 31, 1922 in Martins Ferry a son of the late John and Mary Snyder Nieman, Sr. Harry was a retired toolmaker for Mull Industries and an honorary member of the Liberty Engine Co. of the Martins Ferry Fire Dept. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers John and William Nieman and two sisters Margaret and Kathryn Nieman. Surviving are a brother R. Ben Nieman of Martins Ferry, two sisters Laura Tennyson of Bridgeport, OH and Freda Nieman of Martins Ferry, several nephews and nieces including Joyce (Ron) Smith of Martins Ferry along with several great and great-great nephews and nieces. Friends will be received Wed. 2-4 &7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thur., Sept. 4, 2003 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Peter L. Pilger officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Martins Ferry Fire Dept. will hold services Wed. at 7:30 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Martins Ferry Fire Dept. Liberty Engine Co.
