Harry L. Scammell Jr. 85 of Bridgeport passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born on September 16, 1935 in Wheeling, to the late Harry L. Scammell Sr. and Helen L. (Milliken) Scammell. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School, West Liberty State Collage, and the Univ. of Wisconsin School of Banking Administration. After a long career in banking, he retired from United Bank in Wheeling, also he was a Veteran in the US Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary E. (Friend) Scammell, four children Keith (Lesa) Scammell, David (Susan) Scammell, Mark (Tonia) Scammell, and Cathy (Daniel) Jasper, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, sister-in-law Susan (Jim) Dunlavy, and brother-in-law Robert (Lois) Friend. Friends are invited to a graveside service at Linwood Cemetery on Saturday January 2, 2021 at 1 pm with Rev. John Jackson officiating.
