Harry Wilmot Van Horn, 90, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born June 23, 1925 in Morristown, Ohio, son of the late Frank C. Van Horn and Margaret Skaggs Van Horn.
Harry retired from the Barnesville VFW, of which he was a life member. He was an avid gardener, sharing his home grown vegetables with everyone he knew. He was an unbelievable cook and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Harry was a World War II Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Grace Van Horn; sons, Mike and John Van Horn, infant son, Scott Van Horn.
Harry is survived by his sons, Harry (Vicki) Van Horn, Eric Van Horn all of Barnesville, Ohio, Mark Van Horn of Florida; daughters, Mary Jane Farrabee of Barnesville, Ohio, Tina Willis of Cadiz, Ohio; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Donald Van Horn (Cheryl Kessler) of Barnesville, Ohio.
Honoring Harry's wishes, there will be no visitation. A private service and interment will be conducted at a later date, at the convenience of his family.
