Hazel G. Hannahs, 94, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born December 28, 1917 in Fairview, Ohio, daughter of the late Lewis Carpenter and Martha Powell Carpenter. Hazel was known as a hard worker and great cook. She had worked as a Nurse's Aid at Barnesville Hospital. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a friend to all that knew her. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ernest Hannahs; daughter, Earlena Hannahs; son, Joseph Allen Hannahs, five brothers; and four sisters. Hazel is survived by her daughters, Donna Y. Moore of Barnesville, Ohio, N. Jean Easton of Tipp City, Ohio, and Betsy L. (John) Smith of Proctorville, Ohio; sons, Gary L. (Judith Ann) Hannahs, Lester L. Hannahs, and Dale R. (Beverly) Hannash, all of Barnesville, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Joyce Hannahs; and sister-in-law, Jeanie Carpenter. Family and friends may call, Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Pastor Richard Cox officiating. Interment will take place at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, Ohio.
