Hazel M. (Long) Hood, 98, of National Rd., Morristown, OH,formerly of N. Zane Hwy, Martins Ferry, OH died Thurs, Feb. 10, 2005 at Bell Nursing Home, Morristown. She was born Jul. 12, 1906 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Alvin and Margaret (McLaughlin) Long. She was retired from the former Martins Ferry Hospital, and a member of the First Baptist Church both of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edward S. Hood, a son Charles E. Hood, four brothers Edward, Charles, Lloyd,and Harold Long, a sister Ruth Loos, and a grandson. Surviving are two sons Donald L. Hood and his wife Theresa of Whittier, CA, and Lloyd G. Hood and his wife Carol of Martins Ferry, a daughter Joann Slatniske of Mingo Junction, nine grand children, twenty-four great grandchildren,and six great-great grandchildren. Friends will be received Sat., Feb. 12, 2005 at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH from 1:00 PM until time of services at 3:00 PM when Rev. Joseph Sanders will officiate. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
