Hazel I. (Thomas) Calder, 89, of N. 8th St., Martins Ferry, OH died Sat., May 13, 2006 at Woodsfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center., Woodsfield, OH. She was born Jun. 3, 1916 in Woodsfield a daughter of the late William and Dessa (Fox) Thomas. She was retired from the former C & P Telephone Company, Wheeling, WV and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Ladies Elks #895 both of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William J. Calder, a brother William Thomas and a sister Eleanor Donald Sims. Surviving are two sons Jerry (Sharon) Calder of Woodsfield and William (Cathie) Calder of San Marcos, CA, a daughter Jean (Jim) Lamont of Cincinnati, OH, eight grandchildren Cheri Adkins, William Calder, Michael Lamont, Lisa Barhorst, Joseph Lamont, Krista Calder-Duffy, Daniel and Jonathan Calder, twelve great grandchildren, a niece and two nephews. Friends will be received Wed., 2-5 & 6-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Thurs., May 18 , 2006 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Thomas Magary officiating.
