Helen L. Alvey 75, of Nixon Run Road Martins Ferry, formally of Kilgore Road Bellaire, died Friday March 25, 2011 at the home of her daughter. She was born October 13, 1935 in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late Bud and Anna (Cockran) Burch. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Alvey Sr. in 2006. Helen was an avid bingo player and a member of the Elm Grove Civics where she enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by two sons Charles Alvey Jr. and William (Kathy) Alvey both of Bellaire, three daughters Phyllis (Dennis) Welsh of Belpre, Anna Russell and Tina Bokanovich both of Martins Ferry, a brother Robert (Cindy) Burch of Flushing, three sisters Shirley Jarvis of Rayland, Linda Cooper, and Kathy (Charlie) Gresak both of Martins Ferry, three grandchildren Regina (Joe) Spangenberg, Banessa, and (Brady) Beaver, and Sarah Casto, five great grandchildren, Kaleb Pitchford, Ariana Spangenberg, Kylee Beaver, Tyler Casto, and Mariah Casto. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside Tuesday March 29, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where services will be held Wednesday at 11 am at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Roland officiating. Interment in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice 10686 St Rt. 150 Rayland, Ohio 43934.
