Helen R. (Bazar) Doughty, 101, of Staunton, VA, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, died Friday, July 17, 2020 at Envoy of Staunton Nursing Home, Staunton, VA. She was born January 31, 1919, in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Klein) Bazar.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Homer Doughty, and her siblings: George, Raymond, Thomas, William, Joseph, Charles, Frank and Donny Bazar, and Violet Padgelak, Goldie Gray and Mary Shemenski.

Surviving are her children, Charles W. "Chuck" (Dorothy) Doughty of Churchville VA and Randy C. (Michelle) Doughty of Hilliard, OH, five grandsons: John Doughty (Graveside Service Minister), Doug Doughty, Seth Doughty, Luke Doughty, and Christopher Doughty, a granddaughter, Cynthia Claire (Doughty) Williams and her husband, Charles Williams, seven great-grandsons: Brandon and Ryan Williams, Alexander, Charles E., Homer, Drew and Declan Doughty, Six great-granddaughters: Natalie, Elizabeth, Rachel, Anastasia, Abigail, and Harley Doughty, seven great great grandsons: Nash, Levi, Landon, Zane, Zander, Gabe and Aiden and his sister, Delores George.

Private visitation and funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with Minister's Rod Kasler and Charles and John Doughty officiating at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
