Helen M. (Butler) Hoff, 79, of Mt. Pleasant Pike, Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, March 4, 2011 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling WV. She was born April 2, 1931 in Proctor, WV, a daughter of the late Maynard and Kateleen (Morrison) Butler. Helen was a member of the Colerain Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alvin J. Hoff, a brother Junior Butler and a sister Kay Goff. Surviving are her daughters Susan M. (Biggy) Haught of Colerain and Sharon (Tyrone) Battistone of Wheeling Island, two sisters Judy (Bob) Bruney of Colerain and Sue Short of Budd Lake, NJ, and five grandchildren John Zelkowski, Haley Stidd, Breanne (Douglas) Smith, Jacob and Benjamin Stidd, and seven great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received Monday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Byron McElroy officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Condolences to the family may be made by signing the guest book at the top of this page.
