Helen V. (Davis) Williams, age 88, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 at Forest Hill Care Center, St. Clairsville, OH. Helen was born August 29, 1923 in Martins Ferry, OH, a daughter of the late Jay and Ethel (Rice) Davis. Helen is a 1941 graduate of Martins Ferry High School, a World War II Blaw-Knox employee, but for most of her years a receptionist for Dr. F.W. Cook, retiring in 1993. Helen is a member of Grace United Presbyterian Church, being married there to William Francis Williams on July 28, 1944, a marriage of 67 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her infant daughter Joyce Lee Williams, and grandson John M. Hildebrand; brothers John "Jack", Edmond, Jerald and Bob, and a sister Margaret Bowen. Surviving are her beloved husband, William, daughters Sheila D. Minielly of Martins Ferry, Dana (Alan) Wood of Columbus, son Edward of Bridgeport; grandsons William (Nicole) Hildebrand, Jeremy (Lauren) Wood, Michael (Annie) Wood; great grandchildren John Michael Hildebrand and Juliana M. Wood; nephews Kent Bowen, Ned Davis, Donnie Davis, William Davis and Jeff Davis; nieces Pollyanne LaPrade, Audrey Ann Palma, and Barbara Farmer. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 at 10:00 am with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Burial follows in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
