HELEN GODEZ, 81, of St. Clairsville, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry.She was born November 30, 1927 in Brookside, the daughter of the late Steve and Katherine (Frankovich) Mesojedick.Helen graduated from Bridgeport High School and went on to receive her Bachelors Degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. She was a retired fourth grade teacher at the Leona Avenue Elementary School in Shadyside. She was the former Secretary of General Welding in Martins Ferry and a past member of the Embroiders Guild of America and the Ohio Education Association. Helen is survived by her husband Anton "Tony" Godez of St. Clairsville; a son Jim Godez and his wife Linda of Odessa, FL; two daughters Susan Godez of Bridgeport and Sherrie Starowicz and her husband Dan of Sarasota, FL; as well as three grandchildren Scott Starowicz (Kate), Mande Starowicz and Tony Godez. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where funeral services will be held Friday at 12 pm with Reverend John Brown officiating.
