Helen L. (Schaeffer) Krantz Oberdick, 85 of Mt. Pleasant Pike, Martins Ferry, OH died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. She was born Sept. 28, 1921 in Brookville, PA a daughter of the late Clifford S. and Mabel (Buzzard) Schaeffer. She was a member of the Hopedale Presbyterian Church, Hopedale, OH and the Unionport Chapter # 360 Order of Eastern Star. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Clifford E. Krantz, her second husband Ernest F. Oberdick, two stepsons Richard and Jack Oberdick, a stepdaughter Judy Bailer, four brothers Clifford, Robert, Eugene, and William Schaeffer, and two sisters Alma Irwin and Clara Schaeffer. Surviving are a daughter Victoria Graham of Martins Ferry, two sons Tim (Debra) Krantz of Bridgeport, OH, and Clifford "Randy" (Judy) Krantz of Wintersville, OH, a step-daughter Candy (Ronald) Wilson of Martins Ferry, a sister Lois McCaughan of Pittsburgh, PA, 23 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. John Brown officiating. Burial follows in Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, OH. Eastern Star services will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
