SABAT, Helen Caroline Zeik, 89, of Lansing, Ohio, died Tuesday December 20, 2011 at Forest Hills Retirement Center, St. Clairsville, Ohio. She was born in Lansing on April 19, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Paul Zeik. Helen was a retired employee of Harts Family Center; a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst, Ohio; loved spending time with family, knitting and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Sabat and a sister Leona Miller. Helen is survived by two daughters: Charlotte Conroy and her husband Tom of New Albany, Ohio, Joyce Schafer and her husband Bernie of St. Clairsville; four grandchildren: Tom Conroy, Matt Conroy, Justin (Tiffany) Schafer, Amber Schafer; three great-grandchildren: Josh and Jillian Conroy and Kiera Schafer. Friends will be received Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday December 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst, with Reverend John Mucha as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Blaine, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the charity of the Donor's choice.
