Helen M. (Smithoffer) Milan, 86, of Martins Ferry, OH died Thursday, September 20, 2018 at home. She was born April 1, 1932 in Bannock, OH a daughter of the late Alex and Julia Ann (Molnar) Smithoffer.

Helen retired as a Para Legal for Karl Sommer and John Frazier Law offices in Martins Ferry and was a secretary at Dunn & Bradstreet in Wheeling, WV. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, George P. Burns and her brother-in-law, Joseph Peklicz.

Surviving are her husband, William A. Milan, Sr., a son William A. (Ruthy Stan) Milan, Jr. of St. Clairsville, OH, a daughter, Lisa M. Burns of Martins Ferry, two sisters; Julia R. Peklicz and Elizabeth (Calvin) Hord both of Martins Ferry, grandchildren; Billy Milan, III of St. Clairsville, OH and Hyacin (Alec Smith) Ray of Martins Ferry and her first great grandchild on the way.

Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 11 a.m. until time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Marut officiating.
