Helen Vargo 89 of Barton died Wednesday September 29, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital. She was born January 14, 1921 in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late John and Amelia Mruzek Melnick. She was a member of the Barton United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles J. Vargo in 1990, seven brothers John, Leo, Edward, George, Richard William, and Robert Melnick, a sister Hilda Jackson. Helen is survived by a son Charles James Vargo Jr.(Betty) of Barton, a daughter Helen Jean Grimes of St. Clairsville, two brothers Fred Melnick (Thelma) of Wolfhurst, and Gerald Melnick (Susan) of Cleveland, a sister Katherine McGuire of New Jersey, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside Sunday October 3, 2010 from 12-3 and 6-8, where services will be held Monday at 11 am with the Rev. James Hoff officiating.
