HENRY "CHICK" POTNICK, 92, of Bridgeport, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling. He was born November 29, 1917 in Bridgeport, the son of the late Martin and Mary (Schloser) Potnick. Chick was retired from Clevite/Gould Corporation in Lansing and was a veteran of the United States Air Force during WWII. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wolfhurst, as well as the SNPJ Lodge #52 and the Bridgeport Forrester's Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Fred Potnick and a sister, Mary Holub. Chick is survived by his wife, Virginia (Prince) Potnick; two sons, Mark and his wife Jan of Pataskala, OH and Martin and his wife Kathy of State Line, NV; a daughter, Vida Mae Andrews of Springfield, VA; as well as seven grandchildren and a great grandchild expected in July. Visitation will be Monday 2 - 6 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 am with Father John Mucha officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Blaine. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Central Grade School or the Wolfhurst VFD.
