Obituary

Herbert H. Huggins, ""Hogy"" 80, of Mingo Junction, died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at his home. He was born November 1, 1928 in Mingo Junction, the son of the late Melvin and Rachel (Shook) Huggins. Herbert attended the Brilliant Christian Church. He was a retired Brick Mason at the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Mingo Junction Plant and was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou (Vensel) Huggins; five brothers and three sisters; as well as his son in-law Harold ""Mac"" McMillen. Surviving are a daughter Tanya McMillen of Mingo Junction; his best friend and companion Theresa Reese of Steubenville; five grandchildren Tanya (John) Stevens, Harold D. McMillen III, Tabitha McMillen, all of Mingo Junction and Elizabeth McMillen and Brandi DeMoss both of Steubenville; six great grandchildren: Bailee, Sean, Dylan, Emily, Noah and Serenity; also survived by Jolly Huggins, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Blaschalk-Wilson Funeral Home, 115 Union Ave., Mingo Junction. Friends are then invited to attend visitation at the Brilliant Christian Church on Saturday May 16, 2009 from 11:00 until the time of Herbert's funeral service at 12 noon with Dr. Marc Tinstman officiating. Entombment will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates Mausoleum in Wintersville. Full military services will be conducted by the Brilliant American Legion.
