HERBERT W. SNEDEKER, SR. 88, of Shadyside, died Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Belmont Community Hospital, Bellaire. He was born January 8, 1920 in Bellaire, the son of the late Carl and Margaret Pearl (Bennett) Snedeker. Herbert was a project supervisor for 43 years with ODOT and was a member of the South Bellaire Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII and was an avid reader, gardener and woodworker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruthann (Schulter) Snedeker. Herbert is survived by a daughter Lucy Muklewicz and her husband Walt of St. Clairsville; three sons Herbert, Jr. and his wife Lyn of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Todd and his wife Jean of Bethlehem, WV and Jeff and his wife Tammy of Jacobsburg, OH; a sister Campsa June Dotson of Morgantown, WV; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday 2 - 8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 am with Reverend Ray Benesh officiating. Interment will follow at Belmont Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Clairsville. Full military services will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
