Obituary

Herman E. DeYarmon 72, of Dillonvale, went to be with the Lord on Saturday November 29, 2014 at his home. He was born June 8, 1942 in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Howard and Betty (Smith) DeYarmon and step-mother Mary (Logsdon) DeYarmon. He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Mingo Plant with 33 years of service, a member of East Richland Friends Church St. Clairsville, a Veteran of the US Army, and a member of the American Legion McCook Post #529 Dillonvale. Herman was the co-founder of the Dillonvale-Mt. Pleasant Young Buckeye Football Program, and for a combined 30 years served as a volunteer coach for the Young Buckeyes, Dillonvale Little League and the Buckeye Local Wrestling programs. He was also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Buckeye Local sports fan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Howard Gary DeYarmon. Herman is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Cheryl (Riley) DeYarmon, sons John (Holly) DeYarmon of San Antonio TX., Scott (Veronica) DeYarmon, and Aaron (Cecelia) DeYarmon both of Galloway, Ohio, grandchildren Vinny, MacKenzie, Drew, Beth, Ashlea, and Reilley, and sister Katherine Mossor of Aliquippa, Pa. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second St. Dillonvale on Tuesday December 2, 2014 from 2-4 and 5-9 pm, where services will held on Wednesday at 10 am with Deacon (in training) Vince Olenick and Rev. Scott Rose officiating, interment in Highland Cemetery Mt. Pleasant. Full military graveside services will be conducted by the McCook Post #529 of the American Legion Dillonvale. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice 10686 St. Rt. 150 Rayland, Ohio 43943, or the Young Buckeye Association PO Box 477 Dillonvale, Ohio 43917.
