HESTER (Stobbs) LASH, 90, of Farmington, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Southeastern Med in Cambridge, Ohio. She was born September 24, 1918 in St. Clairsville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Matthew and Lena (Sunderman) Stobbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Albert ""Pete"" Lash in 2006; four brothers Leslie, Bayard, Hugh and Roy Stobbs; and two sisters Florence Stobbs and Emily Lowman. Hester graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1936 and Ohio University in 1968. She was a retired teacher with the Martins Ferry Schools; member of the Colerain Presbyterian Church; active in numerous civic organizations; and a former 4-H advisor. Hester loved reciting jokes and poems, and keeping others entertained playing cards, and making her ""round tuits"". She is survived by two daughters Linda Foster (Robert) of Columbus, Ohio and Gail Requardt (Terry) of New Concord, Ohio; a brother Donald Stobbs of Colerain; three sisters Doris Morrison, Roberta Mitchell (Ray) of Colerain, Ohio and Barbara McFarland of Granville, Ohio; four grandchildren William Foster, Allan Foster (Jessica), Matthew Stamm and Gregory Stamm (Annie); a great grandson Benjamin Stamm; four step-grandchildren Jennifer McCoy (Brian), Tammy Whitehair (Micah) and Heather and Kyle Requardt; five step-great grandchildren Austin, Colt and Riley McCoy and Caden and Samantha Whitehair; many cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as sisters-in-law Clara Lash, Martha Conaway (Bob), Anita and Betty Stobbs. Hester also leaves many long time friends in the Ohio Valley as well as new friends in New Concord and at Victorian Oaks, Cambridge. Visitation will be Monday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, Ohio. Friends are then invited to attend visitation Tuesday from 10 am until the time of Hester's funeral services at 11 am at the Colerain Presbyterian Church with Reverends John Brown and Steve Sullivan officiating.
