Hilda M. West Thomas, 95, of Jerusalem, Ohio, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord, Friday, February 20, 2015 at Woodsfield Nursing and Rehab. She was born January 4, 1920 in Beallsville, Ohio, daughter of the late John W. Dennis and Maggie Jane Dyer Dennis. Hilda was a number one mom with a deep love for her family. She was a devoted nurse, having a special relationship with her patients due to her caring and gentle nature. She loved the Lord and His church and was a devoted Christian all her life, with her beautiful faith an inspiration to all. She was a member of Church of Christ Hunter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin W. West; second husband, Charles N. Thomas; son, Franklin D. West; sisters, Laura Mae Dennis, Mary Luke, Hazel Moore, Pearl Cree; and brothers, Ray, Johnnie, and Freddie Dennis. Hilda is survived by her daughters, Wilda (Harold) Schneider, Kathy (Manifred) Keylor all of Woodsfield, Ohio, Sandra Morris of Barnesville, Ohio; sons, Larry (Wilma) West of Jerusalem, Ohio, Terry West of Lima, Ohio, Randy West of Martins Ferry, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Clara Heskett of Bethesda, Ohio. Family and friends will be welcome to visit, Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home & Crematory, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio, where the service will be conducted, Tuesday 1 p.m. Minister Jeff Rich officiating. Interment will be at Holly Memorial Gardens.
