Homer D. Bennett, 84, of Bridgeport, OH, formerly of Colerain, OH, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, Apr. 4, 2016. He was born Oct. 31, 1931 in Belmont County, OH a son of the late Erman Bennett and Ester (Randolph) Senovich. He was a retired Minister of the Assemblies of God Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Erman and Thomas, a sister, Esther Mae and daughter-in-law Joni Bennett. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Esther H. (Worthington) Bennett, sons, Homer Bennett, Jr. of Barnesville, OH and Erman (Georgeanna) Bennett of Belpre, OH., brother, Charles C. (Jean) Bennett of Martins Ferry, grandchildren, Barbie (John) Whiddon, Kristen (Jacob) Holman, and Daniel Bennett, Emily Bennett and Kevin Bennett and five great grandchildren, Jacob Paul, Aiden, Hayli, Ella and Cameron. Friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Henry Mooney officiating. Burial follows in Hicksite Cemetery, Emerson, OH. Belmont County Veterans Association will present military honors at 1:45 p.m. prior to the funeral.
