Homer O. Stephens, 89, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Monday, October 3, 2016 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born July 23, 1927 in Atlas, OH a son of the late Homer O. and Bessie (Huntsman) Stephens. Homer retired as plant manager for Ferrellgas Propane and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lois G. (Pitcher) Stephens, sisters; Geneva Barret, Mona Carpenter, and Alberta Robb and his brother, Arden Stephens. Surviving are his son, Steven C. (Nancy) Stephens of Houston, TX and daughter, Ramona (Rich) McMillen of Shadyside, OH, sister, Stella Johnson of Barnesville, OH, grandchildren; Christina Welshans, Jennifer (Jeff) Payne, Kyle (Aisha) Stephens, Patricia (Heath) Lohr, and Bret Stephens and eight great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where services will be held Friday, October 7, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Burial follows at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
