Howard J. Crawley Howard J. Crawley, 90, of S. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, OH died Fri., Sept. 13, 2002 at Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born July 22, 1912 in Columbus, OH a son of the late Thomas and Carrie (Sunderland) Crawley. He was retired from the Steubenville Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and was a member and former Deacon of Colerain Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Goldie M. (Burns) Crawley, his second wife Henrietta B. (Whitecotton) Crawley, a daughter Betty Sobota, and two brothers Andrew J. and John Crawley. Surviving are his wife Virginia (Snyder) Crawley; a son Howard J. Crawley, Jr.; three daughters Edna Coburn, and Shirley Snyder and her husband Nelson, and Carol Hopkins and her husband Eugene all of Martins Ferry; eight step-children Jessie Louise Joiner, Angeline Marie Krebs, William Warren Ray, John Lee Ray, Roger Allen Ray, Bruce Preston Ray, David Lee Ray, and Clay John Ray; fifty grandchildren; fifty-eight great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren. Friends will be received Mon. 7-9 PM and Tues. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wed., Sept. 18, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Sanders officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
