Howard C. Hill, 80, formerly of Hughes Ave., Martins Ferry, OH died Tues., Jan. 16, 2007 at Rosewood Manor, Yorkville, OH. He was born Jan. 6, 1927 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Jesse V. and Epsie A. (Scott) Hill. He was a retired crane operator for the Yorkville Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and a former employee of Heslop Funeral Home. Howard was a longtime Elder at the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry and also a veteran of the US Navy WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers Franklin, Noble, Ernest, Edward, and William Hill, three sisters Octa Siburt, Jesse Mayo, and Frances Brock, and a grandson Seth M. Hill. Surviving are his wife Dorothy J. (Davies) Hill, three sons Howard "Howdy" (Cheryl) Hill of Wadsworth, OH, Timothy (Janet) Hill, and Sheldon (Becky) Hill all of Martins Ferry, a daughter Lori (James) Gasmire of Martins Ferry, ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 6-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the First Christian Church, Martins Ferry.
