Irene Tschappat, 89, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012. She was born Nov. 7, 1922 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Charles B. and Mary (Brown) Shimp. Irene spent most of her life in Martins Ferry but made her home in Kailua-Kona, HI for the past 8 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bill Tschappat, sisters Martha Rodgers and Virginia Jean Dellman and a brother William Shimp. Surviving are her three nephew Jack (Pat Grider) Rodgers of Kailua-Kona, HI, Bill Shimp of Fontana, CA and Dan Shimp of Denver, CO, and a great nephew Ryan Shimp of Fontana, CA. Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Burial was held at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom, WV.
