Irene J. Pesta, 82, of Mingo Junction, OH passed away April 23, 2019 at her son's home in York, PA.  She was born September 27, 1936, in Mingo Juction, OH, a daughter of the late Michael and Ann (Kucer) Verba.  Irene has now rejoined the love of her life, John.  She married her Highschool sweetheart in 1960.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Pesta, and sister, Margaret Zumpano.  Irene is survived by her sons, Kurt (Catherine)  Pesta of York, PA, Jonathan M. (Kristine) Pesta of Columbus,OH; and seven grandchildren, (Parker, Palmer, Charity, Jonathan, Jenny, Kelsey, and Max.)  Irene was a devout Byzantine Catholic.  She was very active in high school and a proud Mingo High School Cheerleader.  She was employed at Cameo Women's Center in Steubenville.  In her later years, she resided with her son Kurt's family in York, PA.  Kurt's entire family took care of her until she died in their arms in the morning of April 23.
