Iris L. (Beard) Clower, 79, of Center St., Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. She was born Jan. 9, 1931 in Bridgeport, OH a daughter of the late George H., Jr. and Evelyn (Brownlee) Beard. She was a retired from East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. Iris was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Martins Ferry, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Korea. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl W. "Bill" Clower, a brother Alan Beard, and a sister Irene Higgins. Surviving are two sons William H. (Manuela) Clower of Martins Ferry, and Robert W (Alex) Clower of Dienheim , Germany, three daughters Lynda (John) Jalad of McMechen, WV, Karen Herman of Avis, PA, and Cheryl (William) May, of Columbia City, IN, a brother George H. (Candy) Beard, III of Tiltonsville, OH, two sisters Maureen Vostatek of Columbus, OH, and Dorothy (James) Heller of Camden, TN, twelve grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH with Rev. Van Fischer officiating.
